Industrial Magnets

We are manufacturer and exporter of wide range of industrial magnets like ferrite magnets, alnico magnets, flexible magnets, rare earth magnets available in casting and sintering types.

Ferrite Magnets

Ferrite Magnets

Ferrite magnets are sintered permanent magnets and are composed of barium or strontium ferrite. This class of magnets has a good resistance to demagnetization and has the popular advantage of having a low cost. These ferrite magnets are very hard and brittle, and need special machining techniques and should be machined in an unmagnified state. Our unit is equipped to machine these materials as per required specifications. Having a low cost, Ferrite magnets have a wide application area, ranging from motors and loudspeakers to toys and crafts. They form the most extensively used permanent magnets today.

Manufacturing Methods:

Pressing and Sintering:

These ferrite magnets processes involve pressing very fine ferrite powder in a die and later sintering the pressed magnet. All the fully dense Ferrite magnets are manufactured in this manner. The ferrite magnets can also be wet or dry pressed. The method of wet pressing yields better magnetic properties, but on the other hand poorer physical tolerances. The Sintering process requires subjecting the particular material to high temperatures that results in fusing the pressed powder together. The resultant of this process is a solid material that is created. Ferrite magnets that are manufactured by this process are given a finish machining. The surface finishes and tolerances are not acceptable when the finish machining is not given.

Alnico Magnets

Alnico Magnets

These alnico magnets have excellent temperature stability coupled with high residual induction. High energies characterize alnico magnets that are primarily composed of alloys of aluminum, nickel and cobalt. The alnico magnetss are manufactured through two different processes like casting or sintering. The cast magnets can be manufactured in different complex shapes like horseshoes, which is not possible with other magnet materials. On the other hand sintered alnico offer comparatively lower magnetic properties but better mechanical characteristics than cast alnicos. One of the most commonly used of all cast alnicos is cast alnico 5, which is extensively used for various applications like rotating machinery, meters, instruments, sensing devices, and holding applications, to name a few.

Machining or drilling cannot be accomplished by ordinary methods as alnico is hard and brittle material. The holes are cored in at the foundry and the magnets are cast close to final size before machine finishing to closer tolerances. It also has a low coercive force, and can be easily demagnetized if not handled properly. To obtain maximum performance of alnico 5, its magnetic length has to be approximately 5 times its pole diameter or equivalent diameter.

Manufacturing Methods:

These alnico magnets are manufactured using different processes such as casting or sintering. The cast magnets are manufactured by pouring a molten metal alloy into a mold and then further processing it through various heat-treat cycles. The resulting magnet has a dark gray exterior appearance, and may have a rough surface. The machined surfaces have a shiny appearance similar to steel. Sintered magnets are manufactured by compacting fine alnico powder in a press, and then sintering the compacted powder into a solid magnet.

Flexible Magnets

Flexible Magnets

Flexible magnets offer product designers a uniquely & desirable combination of properties at lower costs than other magnet material. The flexibility & mach inability of these flexible magnets permit design innovations & automated manufacturing techniques, which is not possible with rigid/brittle materials.

Features:

  • Can be bent, twisted, coiled, punched & otherwise machined into almost any shapes without the loss of magnetic energy.
  • They can also replace Ceramic 1 materials, if close tolerances are not the requirement & if operating below about 250º F temperatures.
  • Standard grades of flexible materials feature energy products from 0.6 MGOe to 1.6 MGOe.

Manufacturing Methods:

  • Extrusion: For producing materials in strip forms (from about 6 mm to 250 mm wide).
  • Calendaring: Fro producing materials in sheet forms (up to around 600 mm wide).

Rare Earth Magnets

Rare Earth Magnets

Rare earth magnets are one of the strongest types of permanent magnets that are currently being made. Theses rare earth magnets very powerful for their size and are extensively used. The STAR TRACE line of permanent magnets, packaged in the system are composed of licensed grade 52 neodymium iron boron magnetic material and are plated in nickel-copper-nickel for a shiny corrosion resistant finish.

Rare Earth Magnets Composition:

The rare earth magnets are made of alloys of the anthanide group of elements. Neodymium and samarium are the two lanthanide elements that are most prevalent while manufacturing permanent magnets. These rare earth magnets can be availed in sintered and bonded forms and can also be availed in different coatings. Nickel-Copper-Nickel plating offer superb resistance to corrosion and durability in addition to providing a clean & shiny look.
